The AUN assessors, led by Prof. Nantana Gajaseni, AUN Executive Director, Prof. Damrong Thawesaengskulthai (Chulalongkorn University, Thailand), Dr. Wyona Patalinghug (De La Salle University, Philippines) and Mr. Korn Ratanagosoom (AUN Secretariat).

Attending to the open session was representatives from General Department of Education Testing and Accreditation - MOET; from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, there were Prof.PhD. Mai Trong Nhuan - VNU President; Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha - Vice President and Rector of UEB; Prof.PhD. Nguyen Phuong Nga - Director of Institute for Education Quality Assurance - VNU; representatives from VNU’s centers, schools/universities, UEB Management Board and faculty and students.

This is the second time when VNU organized the assessment of a bachelor training program according to Quality Assurance standards of AUN and the tenth time of AUN’s assessment on universities in ASEAN countries. AUN currently has 27 leading universities in 10 ASEAN countries.

The request from University of Economics and Business - VNU on the assessment of International Economics Bachelor honor training program according to AUN-QA is a remarkable progress in its research and training process of regional and international standard orientation.

In his open speech, Prof.PhD. Mai Trong Nhuan - VNU President has mentioned the development strategy of VNU, which affirmed "Vietnam National University is one of the first universities of Vietnam which joined Asean University Network and it has been actively worked for assessment activities of the network”. He emphasized: University of Economics and Business has gained several achievements in innovation and university autonomy as well as other training activities. Especially, the university participated in the quality assessment with "the expectation of receiving contributive ideas under expert aspect as well as open suggestions from companions”.

Prof. Nantana Gajaseni, AUN Executive Director also spoke at the opening session and expressed her hope for the success of the quality assessment at University of Economics and Business - VNU.

PhD. Vu Anh Dung has summarized the honor training program in International Economics Bachelor

After Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha’s introduction about University of Economics and Business, PhD. Vu Anh Dung - Dean of Faculty of International Business and Economics has summarized the honor training program in International Economics Bachelor of the university.

After the working session, the AUN assessors have interviewed lecturers and staff of the program as well as supporting units of the university.

On same day afternoon, the delegation has visited online class of the students in the program, lectured by Prof. Takashi Shimizi (Tokyo University, Japan) and actually examined at Center for Document and Library, laboratory and campus of University of Economics and Business - VNU.

The assessment is planned to close on 8^th December 2010.
