University of Economics and Business - VNU has solemnly celebrated the receiving ceremony of ISO 9001:2008 Certificate on 5th May 2010.

Attending to the ceremony were Mr. Tran Van Vinh - Vice Head of Directorate for Standards Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ), representatives from Vietnam Certification Center QUACERT - STAMEQ, Ministry of Science & Technology; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Trong Quat, Vice President of VNU, MA. Tran Quoc Binh - VNU President Office; Representative of UEB Board and its staff and faculty.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Anh Tai - UEB Vice Rector, Chief of ISO Executive Board referred to the implementing and applying process of ISO 9001:2008 at the university. “ISO 9001: 2008 quality management system standard is the quintessence of international experience in management and quality assurance”, said Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Anh Tai. “UEB managing model is built in the respect for   its clients and servicing activities; it is also an effective tool for managers to develop and maintain the quality assurance system. UEB has applied the standard on quality and training programs audit; besides, ISO 9001:2008 application at UEB is considered as an important tool which supports university administrative operation according to modern methods to improve education and research quality.

During the application of ISO 9001 system, UEB has issued the quality handbook and 34 sets of major running process of the university. After its issue and application, the process has been adjusted to have better respond to ISO 9001:2008 standards, matching actual activities of the university and initially contributes to managing tasks.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Vinh - Vice Head of Directorate for Standards Metrology and Quality conferred the 9001:2008 ISO certificate to UEB leader and congratulated the university for this honor.

On this occasion, UEB Rector complimented and awarded ISO Executive Board, Office of Research & Partnership Development and 3 individuals (Nguyen Minh Duc - Office of Inspection, Nguyen Thi Thu - Office of Academic Affairs, Pham Bich Ngoc - Office of Administration) for their excellent performance during the ISO implementation.
In his speech, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Trong Quat - Vice President of VNU highly evaluated the effort of University of Economics and Business - VNU in the implementation and application of ISO 9001:2008 system.

The ceremony is a major event of University of Economics and Business - VNU, which marked a new success of the university during its striving for a high qualification and prestige in all aspects.

In order to uphold the initial achievement, UEB Board of Management committed that the university will remain its strive for the improvement and perfection of ISO 9001:2008 system, consider it as an important tool to fulfill its strategic objectives in the coming period.
